Tropical Storm Bertha made a second landfall on Thursday afternoon near the Texas-Louisiana state line. The storm, which first grazed southern Louisiana, is expected to bring heavy rains and potential flooding to southeast Texas. Forecasters warned of up to 2 feet of storm surge and isolated flash flooding as the storm's heavy rainfall moved inland.
Due to the storm's presence, SpaceX postponed its planned Starship launch from Texas, rescheduling it for Friday when clearer skies are anticipated. While Bertha caused some minor damage to a boardwalk and knocked over a sign in Florida earlier in the week, no significant damage or deaths have been reported since it formed on Monday.
A tropical storm warning remains in effect for coastal areas of Texas and Louisiana. Forecasters expect Bertha to weaken as it moves over inland Texas and dissipate by Friday. This is the second tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, following Tropical Storm Arthur in June.
