- The initiative aims to improve waste management and city cleanliness.
In an effort to enhance cleanliness and waste management, the Tiruchi City Corporation has initiated a program to commend households demonstrating excellent waste segregation practices. This campaign specifically acknowledges residents who consistently divide their domestic waste into four distinct categories: biodegradable, non-biodegradable, sanitary, and special waste.
Corporation Commissioner N. Ponmani recently visited households in Duraisamypuram, recognizing residents for their commitment. Homes achieving 100% waste segregation have been awarded special stickers, prominently displayed at their entrances, bearing a message of appreciation for their efforts. The initiative also includes educational outreach and environmental activities like tree planting to foster broader community involvement in maintaining a healthier urban environment.
