Tiger Found Dead, Paws Missing in Reserve

A heavily decomposed carcass of an adult male tiger was discovered in the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR), sparking an immediate investigation into suspected poaching. Forest officials found the remains during routine surveillance in the Racherla beat, noting the absence of the tiger's paws. Preliminary assessments indicate the animal died at least two weeks prior, with the carcass showing advanced decomposition.

Wildlife officials are focusing on the possibility of poaching, citing the missing paws as the primary reason for suspicion. However, the presence of the tiger's skin, teeth, and bones suggests that the poachers may not have been highly professional, as typically all valuable parts are removed by skilled traffickers. The carcass has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and biological samples are undergoing forensic analysis.

The incident has drawn a strong reaction from Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who described the death as deeply disturbing.
