AP Deputy CM Orders Probe into Tiger Deaths

Within a recent two-to-three-day period, two tigers have been discovered deceased within the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR). A tigress carcass was found in Nandikotkur Reserved Forest, and an adult tiger carcass was located in Racherla Forest Beat.
The investigation into the tiger's death in Racherla has revealed that its limbs and claws are missing, raising suspicions beyond natural causes. An offense case has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, with post-mortem procedures and forensic sample collection underway.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Forest Minister, Pawan Kalyan, has directed a thorough and transparent inquiry into the fatalities. He emphasized the critical importance of tiger conservation and expressed concern over the recent losses, questioning whether the deaths were natural or due to human interference such as poaching or poisoning.
To prevent future incidents, Forest department officials have been instructed to increase patrolling and vigilance in forest areas. The government has pledged strict action against negligence and reaffirmed its commitment to forest conservation and wildlife protection in Andhra Pradesh.
