Tiger Chased by Car Lights for Instagram Video

In a concerning incident, forest authorities in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve have filed charges against an Instagram user for harassing a tiger at night. The individual allegedly used car headlights to chase the animal, aiming to capture footage for social media, a direct violation of the Wildlife Protection Act. This happened on the Madhotanda-Uttarakhand road, passing through the sensitive Mahof forest range.

This act of disturbing wildlife has raised alarms among conservationists about the misuse of social media platforms for engagement. Officials stated that such actions not only cause psychological distress to animals but also pose a risk of revealing tiger movements to poachers. The forest department has registered a case and is collaborating with the cyber crime cell to apprehend the account holder.

In response, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve authorities have increased night patrols along the vulnerable road stretch to prevent further violations and ensure the safety of its wildlife from such reckless behaviour.
