The Kottoor forests recorded the highest diversity with 85 species, including rare sightings like the Sri Lanka frogmouth. Campuses, such as the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute, also proved to be vital biodiversity hotspots, yielding 50 species. This underscores the ecological importance of urban green spaces.

Wetlands like Vellayani-Punchakkari and Kadinamkulam Lake, along with urban areas, showcased significant birdlife, including migratory species. The participation of nearly 50 volunteers from diverse backgrounds highlights the community's engagement in conservation efforts.
