Summary
- 305 industries were ordered closed for pollution non-compliance.

The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has taken decisive action, ordering the closure of 305 industries for non-adherence to pollution control norms. After scrutinizing 2,069 units and issuing notices to 1,234, closure orders were subsequently lifted for 697 upon verification of compliance.
During the period from January 2024 to October 2025, TGPCB also facilitated growth by approving 2,620 new companies and issuing operational permits to 3,521 existing units, following rigorous environmental checks for air and water pollution. Extensive sample collection, including 7,966 wastewater/hazardous waste and 3,807 air pollutant samples, underscores the commitment to stringent pollution management.
To enhance oversight, a 24/7 online monitoring cell has been established for 501 highly polluting industries. Furthermore, new initiatives such as a toll-free helpline, a mobile application 'Janavani - Kalushya Nivarini', and night patrolling in industrial zones are actively employed. The state manages 12,264 industries categorized by pollution severity.
