A Tasmanian devil named Mary, who escaped her enclosure more than two weeks ago, has been successfully recovered. The two-year-old marsupial had been missing since June 2 after leaving Paradise Country, a wildlife park on the Gold Coast. A wide-ranging search operation involving both bushland and suburban areas was initiated to find her.
On Tuesday evening, Mary was located in bushland situated less than two kilometers from the sanctuary. Upon her discovery, Mary was found to be in an unstable condition. The park's team promptly assessed her and determined that she required immediate veterinary care. She was subsequently transported to a specialist veterinary hospital where her condition could be stabilized.
