Beyond these snake encounters, a different kind of wildlife sighting has generated interest in Haryana. Rare yellow-throated martens were filmed in the Morni hills, an unusual occurrence for the state. While martens are known to inhabit the Shivalik Hills, museum records from Haryana are scarce, with only a few other sightings documented in recent years in areas like Kalesar National Park and Bir Shikargah. These omnivorous mammals are known for their agility and courage, often preying on animals larger than themselves.
