Shivamogga Zoo Welcomes Rare White Tiger in Animal Exchange

On October 1st, 2025, the Tiger and Lion Safari in Shivamogga, Karnataka made a significant addition to its animal collection through an exchange program with zoos in Aurangabad and Indore. The highlight of the exchange was the arrival of a two-year-old white tiger named Vikram, a rare and captivating sight for visitors.
In addition to the white tiger, the Shivamogga zoo also received two female Royal Bengal tigers, Shravani and Rohini, as well as a male and female Asiatic lion, Shiva and Sara. The zoo also welcomed a three-year-old Royal Bengal tiger named Bhadra from the Indore zoo.
To facilitate this exchange, the Shivamogga zoo sent two Asiatic lions, two sloth bears, and two golden jackals to the Aurangabad zoo. They also transferred two pairs of gaurs and two pairs of ostriches to the Indore zoo. This comprehensive animal swap has resulted in a significant expansion of the Shivamogga zoo's big cat collection, now boasting six new additions.
