Met Office Warns of Extreme Rain Across Scotland

Scotland is bracing for significant rainfall as a heavy band of rain is predicted to sweep across the country by 8 PM. This weather system is expected to bring up to 4mm of rain to areas including Moray, Aberdeenshire, and Fife. As the evening progresses, conditions are set to intensify, with Met Office maps indicating extremely heavy rain by 11 PM. Certain regions, such as Dumfries and Galloway, South Ayrshire, Stirling, and large parts of the Highlands, could face hourly rainfall rates of up to 8mm.
While Northern England is forecast to receive around 2mm of rain and North Wales can expect scattered showers, much of southern and central England, alongside the majority of Wales, is anticipated to be largely unaffected by the severe weather. Looking ahead to Wednesday morning, the forecast indicates continued showers across Northern Ireland, Wales, southwest England, and the Midlands. Some of these showers may extend into central and eastern England later in the day, though brighter periods are also expected.
