A local magnitude 2.5 earthquake jolted residents awake in the Scottish Highlands during the early hours of Tuesday morning. The seismic event, which occurred at 3:09 AM, was felt across areas including Spean Bridge, Roybridge, Inverlair, and Fort William.
Numerous reports described the tremor as a deep rumble lasting several seconds, with some residents noting rattling objects and others likening the sound to a small underground explosion.
