This operation was conducted under the Wildlife (Protection) Act with necessary permissions and expert oversight from veterinarians and senior forest officials.
The Kaziranga Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC), a collaborative effort by the Assam forest department, Wildlife Trust of India, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare, has a significant track record. Since its establishment in 2002, CWRC has rescued and rehabilitated over 7,397 animals from 357 species, achieving a remarkable release success rate of nearly 65% for these animals.
