Rescued Tiger Settles into New Home at British Zoo

In October 2019, an international animal welfare charity rescued Aqua, a tiger, from illegal trafficking at the Poland and Belarus border. Aqua was one of nine tigers saved by the charity and taken to a rescue center in Spain for rehabilitation.
Now, over six years later, Aqua has become the final tiger from that rescued pack to find a permanent home. Just last week, Aqua moved into his purpose-built habitat at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in Wraxall, near Bristol, UK. Keepers report that he is settling in well to his new environment.
Aqua's new home at the zoo includes features designed to encourage his natural behaviors, such as hunting, leaping, and surveying from a height. He also has a pool area, as he enjoys water and swimming. Keepers feed him around 3.5kg of meat each day, which they place around his habitat for him to find and smell.
