In the Florida Everglades, a professional python hunter, Carl Jackson, achieved a remarkable feat by capturing the second-largest Burmese python in state history. The snake measured an astonishing 16 feet, 10 inches and weighed 202 pounds. Adding to the significance, the python was found to be carrying 200 eggs, which Jackson noted represented the elimination of 200 potential invasive predators.

Jackson's recent pursuit of his dream to hunt pythons in Florida culminated in this extraordinary capture on January 13. The encounter was particularly challenging as the python dragged Jackson over an anthill during their struggle. Fortunately, his wife and two adopted children, who had just received their Python Action Team certification the previous day, were present and instrumental in subduing the massive constrictor. The family's timely assistance ensured the snake's secure capture before it could inflict further harm.

This capture surpassed Jackson's expectations, who initially believed he was tracking a much smaller snake.
