Reckless Scooter Rider Strikes Down Geese in Shocking Incident

On July 18th, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded on a canal path in Leigh, where a scooter rider struck down three geese. According to the RSPCA, one of the geese was found with catastrophic injuries, including a collapsed neck, heavy bleeding, and possible eye trauma. A second goose, also bleeding, managed to get back into the water but has not been seen since and is feared to have died. The condition of the third goose remains unknown.

The shocking event was witnessed by horrified members of the public, who reported the incident to the authorities. The RSPCA is now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with their inquiries. The scooter rider is described as a male in his 20s or 30s, wearing a cap and having a medium build with curly "curtain-style" hair. He was riding a dark-colored or navy-blue electric scooter at high speed along the canal path when the incident occurred.

The RSPCA has expressed deep concern over the incident, stating that the injuries sustained by the geese are truly horrific. Whether the scooter rider's actions were intentional or due to a lack of care, the fact that he did not stop to check on the geese is a matter of grave concern. The animal welfare charity is determined to find the individual responsible and bring them to justice.
