In a substantial administrative move, the Rajasthan government executed a late-night transfer of 69 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers. This broad reshuffling aims to bring new leadership and expertise to various critical positions within the state's forest and wildlife management.
Among the key appointments, Suman Ram Jat has been designated as the director of the Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve (RVTR). This marks a historic moment, as Jat becomes the very first director of RVTR, established nearly four years ago as Rajasthan's fourth tiger reserve. The move is expected to accelerate conservation efforts in the region.
Further strengthening the wildlife sector, T Mohan Raj is now the director of Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve, also holding additional charge as chief conservator of forests (Wildlife) in Kota. R N Meena has been appointed as divisional chief conservator of forests for Kota. Shailja Deval takes on the role of secretary for the environment and climate change department, also serving as member secretary for SIEAA. Principal chief conservator of forests Anurag Bhardwaj will now oversee IT functions for the department.
