- Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation cited disrupted waste management.

Residents of Ravet and Kiwale, Pune, have announced plans for an Independence Day protest. Their grievance centers on an open garbage dump near K Ville society, which they state has been causing foul odors and health problems. Complaints to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have yielded no resolution.
A senior PCMC health official acknowledged the issue, explaining that waste management was disrupted after the July 8 Moshi waste depot incident. Although the depot has reopened, the approach road remains unstable, and rainfall has further hampered operations, leading to temporary open dumping.
Residents report that the foul smell permeates their homes, making daily life difficult and causing health issues like throat infections. They question the civic body's adherence to waste management rules and express frustration that the situation persists, impacting life in a so-called smart city.
Further complicating matters, some residents have approached the Bombay High Court regarding an existing waste transfer station, alleging the creation of another open dumping site. They criticize the PCMC's medical department for failing to address the health impacts of the extensive garbage accumulation along a 45m-wide road.
