On World Environment Day 2026, the postal department honored nature by releasing a special philatelic set. This collection, themed 'Nature's Keepers,' features nine picture postcards and a unique cancellation.
The event, held in Mangaluru, was attended by K. Prakash, Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle. He underscored the significant role of philately in fostering public awareness regarding environmental conservation and biodiversity.
Mr. Prakash further elaborated that philatelic products are effective means to educate the public on crucial environmental and social issues. The designs for the postcards and cancellation were inspired by the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats, particularly its insect life and pollinators.
