Hundreds of Tires Illegally Dumped in Philly Park

In Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, city crews were actively engaged on Tuesday in the cleanup of hundreds of tires. These tires were discovered to have been illegally dumped in the park's vicinity, specifically near the Centennial Arboretum. The situation came to light on Monday when a U-Haul truck became immobilized while in the process of unloading the large quantity of discarded tires.

Authorities are now launching an investigation to apprehend those responsible for this environmental offense. The city is coordinating efforts between the police department and the sanitation department. Penalties for illegal dumping are severe, with fines potentially reaching up to $5,000 for each individual piece of material discarded unlawfully.
