Odisha Village Ignites Hope After CM's Electrification Push

Subarnapur, a remote tribal hamlet in Odisha's Ganjam district, is finally getting electricity after a direct instruction from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The village, home to 25 households, had previously relied on a defunct solar power system, leaving residents in darkness.
Officials have already begun the installation of approximately 30 electric poles and a 25-kva transformer. This crucial electrification work is anticipated to conclude within the next seven to ten days, bringing an end to years of study under lantern light for the village's students.
The Chief Minister's directive, issued during a conference with district collectors and SPs, emphasizes a statewide goal of providing power and water to every village by 2027, highlighting a broader commitment to rural development.
