Noida Fights Noise: Sound Barriers for Bhangel Road
29 May
Summary
- Sound barriers will be installed along Bhangel Elevated Road.
- Project estimated to cost Rs 18.8 crore and take two months.
- Barriers use 120mm-thick aluminium panels with rockwool.

Noida Authority has initiated a Rs 18.8 crore project to install sound barriers along the Bhangel Elevated Road, addressing noise pollution concerns from nearby residents. The work is slated for completion within two months and will cover key junctions near Sectors 42, 47, 48, 49, 107, and 110.
The noise barriers will feature 120mm-thick aluminum soundproof panels, internally packed with high-density rockwool to effectively absorb sound. Each panel will measure 1.3 meters in height and 3 meters in width, boasting a durable, powder-coated finish for weather resistance.
This initiative follows the opening of the 5.5km elevated road in November 2025, which, despite easing traffic congestion, has led to significant noise disturbances for residents in densely populated areas. The project aims to mitigate this impact and improve the quality of life for those affected.
