Summary
- Noida Authority fined 15 apartment owners associations ₹1.5 crore.
- Fines imposed over one-and-a-half years for untreated wastewater dumping.
- Authority filed three FIRs and continues site inspections.

In a rigorous enforcement drive, the Noida Authority has imposed penalties exceeding ₹1.5 crore on 15 apartment owners associations for discharging untreated wastewater into drains. These actions, undertaken since August 3, 2022, align with National Green Tribunal directives aimed at preventing Yamuna River pollution. The Authority intensified its inspections and penalty imposition over the last eighteen months, ensuring housing societies treat waste before discharge.
Further to these penalties, the Authority has also filed three First Information Reports (FIRs) against errant associations. One society in Sector 137 received a ₹4.85 lakh fine and an FIR for public health issues and groundwater pollution due to a non-compliant sewage treatment plant. Similar actions, including substantial fines and FIRs, were taken against complexes in Sector 76 and Sector 45 for violating waste management rules.
