Noida Air Quality Dips to 'Poor' Amid Fog and Rain Forecast

Noida's air quality registered in the 'poor' category on Friday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 257, showing a slight increase from the previous day's 244. In contrast, Ghaziabad saw its air quality worsen significantly, moving into the 'very poor' category with an AQI of 303, up from 272. Forecasts from the India Meteorological Department suggest the region anticipates light rainfall coupled with a thunderstorm today.
Data from the Sameer App indicated that all four monitored stations in Noida reported 'poor' air quality, with AQI values ranging from 212 to 272. Greater Noida's Knowledge Park V and III also recorded 'poor' air quality. Ghaziabad's Loni and Indirapuram fell into the 'very poor' category, while Vasundhara and Sanjay Nagar were in the 'poor' range.
Surface winds on Friday originated from the northwest, reaching up to 10 kmph in the afternoon but decreasing to below 6 kmph in the evening and night. For Saturday, a partly cloudy sky is expected in the morning, with increased cloudiness in the afternoon and evening. Isolated dense fog patches are possible in the morning, alongside a chance of very light rain with thunderstorms and lightning. The maximum temperature on Friday was 20 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 8 degrees.
