Initiated in 2024, the festival aims to counter misconceptions about natural foods being difficult to prepare or inaccessible. It seeks to create a direct link between farmers adopting organic methods and consumers. Farmers from nearby districts were integral to the initiative, sharing their knowledge and produce.
The festival featured a diverse menu prepared with indigenous ingredients like millets and traditional grains, showcasing more than 50 varieties of seeds and rice. Food was offered free, supported by voluntary contributions. Alongside culinary delights, attendees gained insights into sustainable practices such as bamboo craft and indigenous healthcare systems.
Approximately 30 stalls offered natural and organic produce, with a significant emphasis on seed conservation. Experts discussed the importance of farmers retaining and regenerating seeds. The event also included cultural performances, adding a vibrant dimension to the celebration of local food systems.
