As fears of water scarcity loom over rural Nagpur, proactive measures are being taken in Kamptee villages. The Zilla Parishad is focusing on reviving existing water infrastructure and strengthening groundwater resources. In Kawtha village, two new borewells with pumping machinery will be installed, alongside flushing ten existing borewells and constructing five groundwater recharge shafts. Additional efforts will include an underground check dam, stream deepening, and a cement check dam to improve water retention.
Khasala village will see the rejuvenation of existing wells through desilting and cleaning. A new borewell is also planned, with two more to be added in a later phase. Immediate repairs to a leaking pipeline valve are underway to stop water wastage. These initiatives aim to ensure a more secure water supply for the region's residents.
