Initiatives such as legacy-waste processing, enhanced solid waste management, and increased green cover through vertical gardens and road dividers have further bolstered Nagpur's environmental performance.
However, construction and demolition activities continue to pose a significant challenge to air quality. Stricter enforcement against dust generated from these sites is crucial for Nagpur to potentially improve its ranking further. The city's efforts are being monitored under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), with ongoing awareness campaigns and sensitisation programs contributing to better environmental practices.
