Nagpur Plot Becomes Garbage Dump, Health Hazard

A plot designated for the Orange City Street project in Nagpur has become a concerning issue for Sahakar Nagar residents. The site, located at the entrance of the neighborhood, is now covered in stagnant water and surrounded by heaps of garbage. Algae growth is visible in the water, and plastic waste, household refuse, and construction debris litter the area. Crumbling boundary walls have exacerbated the problem, making the plot an easy target for illegal dumping. Residents report that even light rainfall causes the plot to turn into a swamp, affecting pedestrian movement along the adjacent road and creating a strong odor. Concerns are particularly high regarding mosquito breeding during the monsoon season. Local civic authorities have been alerted and have dispatched teams to spray disinfectant, conduct fogging, and address the stagnant water and accumulated garbage. Residents are urging for immediate action to maintain basic sanitation until the land is properly developed for its intended purpose.
