A kestrel named Noddy has been missing since Saturday afternoon, prompting an urgent search in Bracknell, Berkshire. The six-year-old bird reportedly flew off during an exercise session at Great Hollands recreation ground after being startled by magpies.
Falconer Angela Norwood, who runs Berkshire Birds of Prey, believes Noddy has stayed in the local area, with recent sightings near Buckler's Forest nature reserve and Lyon Road. Noddy is fitted with a tracker, but its functionality is limited to a few days. Volunteers are actively trying to locate the kestrel, emphasizing the risks posed by cold weather and potential predators.
Noddy is described as resilient, smaller than a pigeon, and has distinctive green and black jessies on his legs. He also wears a black radio transmitter approximately 10cm long. Anyone who spots Noddy is urged to contact Berkshire Birds of Prey immediately to ensure his safe return.
