As of 2025-11-13T06:28:51+00:00, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has set up a specialized interdepartmental team to monitor and address air pollution reduction measures around the Anand Vihar ISBT. The teams, which will work in collaboration with the transport department, will comprise officials from the MCD, Delhi Police, and traffic police.
The Anand Vihar ISBT area has been identified as a persistent pollution hotspot, with high levels of air pollution due to the combined presence of the ISBT, a railway station, and a metro station, along with the Ghaziabad bus terminal across the border. The teams will patrol the area in three shifts - 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and 10:00 pm to 6:00 am - to ensure that pollution reduction measures, such as water sprinkling, are being carried out regularly and that no violations of construction norms or Graded Response Action Plan stage 3 rules are occurring.
The teams will also identify any actions that need to be taken, such as fixing broken tiles that contribute to dust or ensuring proper sweeping of the area. They will submit daily reports to the deputy commissioner of the MCD's Shahdara South Zone, who has issued the orders for this initiative.
