- Snowfall is expected to boost tourist footfall due to holiday heatwave.

Light snowfall was reported in the upper hills of Manali, including the vicinity of the Atal Tunnel, as dark, convective clouds reduced visibility. Videos of tourists enjoying the snow have circulated widely.

The Shimla Meteorological Office has issued an orange warning for Sunday, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Shimla, Kullu, and Mandi districts. Light rain and snow are anticipated across the state until March 21. Further alerts include orange warnings for gusty winds and hail for specific districts on Thursday, and yellow alerts for thunderstorms and gusty winds in ten districts from Monday through Thursday.
In terms of temperature, Nahan experienced a heatwave on Saturday afternoon with a maximum of 30.2 degrees Celsius, while Tabo was the coldest at night, dropping to 1.4 degrees Celsius. A fresh western disturbance is expected to impact northwest India starting the night of March 17.
