- Her tail was severely injured in an attack by another lioness, Neerja.
- Post-mortem will reveal the exact cause of death for the lioness.

A 10-year-old Asiatic lioness, Radhika, died at Etawah Safari Park on Monday morning. She had been undergoing treatment for a severe tail injury sustained in an attack by another lioness, Neerja, on July 8. The incident occurred when Radhika's tail accidentally entered Neerja's adjacent cell, provoking the attack.
Following the injury, Radhika began biting her own tail, which worsened the wound and increased the risk of infection. A medical team from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya in Mathura was consulted. They amputated the damaged tail on July 9, but Radhika's condition remained critical.
Safari director Anil Patel confirmed Radhika's death around 4:30 AM on Monday. The park currently houses 22 lions, lionesses, and cubs. The final cause of death will be clarified after the post-mortem report is released.
