Leopard Roams Indore Colony: Third Sighting Sparks Fear

Panic spread through Bihadiya gram panchayat residents in Indore on Monday, September 22, 2026, following a leopard sighting in Farm Villa Colony. This incident marked the third time the big cat was observed in the residential area within a week, causing significant alarm.
CCTV footage had previously recorded the leopard's presence on September 16 and September 18. The colony, spanning 28 acres with over 25 farmhouses, is situated near the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a natural habitat for leopards and other wildlife.
Acting on resident reports, the forest department dispatched a specialized team to search for the animal and track its movements using available CCTV footage. Despite extensive searches, the team did not find any signs of the leopard.
Indore division forest officer Lal Sudhakar Singh advised residents to remain vigilant, avoid traveling alone after dark, and promptly report any further sightings. Forest officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
