Tabby's Place, a cat sanctuary in Ringoes, New Jersey, has recently become a vital refuge for 15 cats rescued from Lebanon's war-affected areas. This international effort, in collaboration with Animals Lebanon, aims to provide a safe environment for felines that have endured conflict and hazardous conditions.
Since 2019, Tabby's Place has partnered with Animals Lebanon to support medically fragile rescue animals. The latest mission, which occurred recently, brought 21 cats from Doha, Qatar, to New York, with 15 finding their new temporary home at Tabby's Place. The sanctuary specializes in rehabilitating cats with serious medical or behavioral challenges.
The newly arrived cats are now undergoing individualized care plans. Behavioral specialists are helping them adjust to their new, peaceful surroundings, while veterinary staff are treating various injuries and illnesses. Animals Lebanon rescues animals from dangerous conditions throughout Lebanon, frequently transferring cats with significant medical needs to Tabby's Place.
Once recovered, these resilient felines will be prepared for adoption into loving homes. The sanctuary, which opened in 2003, has a history of rescuing over 5,000 cats, including many from overseas with complex medical histories.
