The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Climate Change, Forestry, Environment, and Wildlife Department has introduced a comprehensive five-year strategy focused on protecting and maintaining newly planted saplings. This plan aims to maximize the success and sustainability of the province's afforestation efforts through ongoing monitoring and care.
Senior officials recently held the Fourth Online Open Forum, allowing citizens to directly voice concerns and share suggestions on environmental protection and wildlife conservation. Secretary Junaid Khan emphasized that planting trees is an investment in the future and a shared responsibility, not just for the government but for every citizen.
With the monsoon season beginning, a province-wide plantation drive is underway, with millions of saplings being planted and free saplings distributed to the public. Khan also announced that March 23 and August 14 will be permanent annual dates for large-scale tree-planting campaigns, highlighting this as a crucial solution to climate change challenges.
