Summary
- Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary reopens for tourism on November 1.

- Water levels may impact boating activities for dolphin sightings initially.
Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Bahraich is set to welcome tourists starting November 1 for its new tourism season. The sanctuary offers jungle safaris, opportunities to observe rich wildlife, and new attractions designed to enhance the visitor experience. A newly developed selfie point with an inscribed wooden sign is expected to be a popular spot.
Preparations are actively underway, with the forest department cleaning jungle routes and upgrading facilities. These include the crocodile center, boat jetty, Tharu huts, canteen, and rest houses. An interpretation center, currently under construction, will soon provide educational insights into crocodiles, their behavior, habitat, and conservation efforts.
While tigers, leopards, elephants, dolphins, gharials, and crocodiles are major draws, visitors might face initial limitations with boating activities due to low water levels in the Gerua River. The forest department is also considering expanding safari routes to allow access to more areas of the sanctuary.
