Ornithologist's Discovery Sparks Global Conservation Model

Thirty years ago, US ornithologist Robert Ridgely discovered the jocotoco antpitta in Ecuador's eastern Andes. This significant find prompted the establishment of the Jocotoco Foundation in 1998 to protect the bird's habitat and restore biodiversity.
