The second edition of the Jharkhand Bird Festival began Monday at the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. This three-day event is dedicated to avian ecology and includes bird-watching, discussions, and photography contests. The festival welcomed 100 bird enthusiasts from six different states.
Attendees range from students and professionals to ornithologists and general nature lovers. They have the opportunity to observe and photograph various bird species, followed by educational sessions with experts. Discussions will cover endangered species and plans for ecological conservation.
Forest officials highlighted that 'responsible tourism' is a key theme, with accompanying audio-video presentations. The inaugural festival in 2025 identified 150 bird species, including migratory birds from South Asia and Europe.
