Jaipur Goes Electric: All Vehicles E-By-2055
22 Feb
Summary
- Jaipur plans all electric vehicles by 2055.
- 25 locations identified for EV charging stations.
- New plan promotes non-motorised transport and cycling.

Jaipur's future transport network will prioritize pollution reduction, with a Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) aiming for an all-electric vehicle fleet by 2055. This plan projects Jaipur's population to surpass 1 crore by that year.
The CMP designates 25 areas across the city for the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. It proposes 11 charging stations specifically for buses and an additional 11 for e-rickshaws, facilitating the widespread adoption of electric mobility.
Beyond electric vehicles, the CMP champions non-motorised transport (NMT) and pedestrian facilities. This includes constructing footpaths, footbridges, and cycle lanes, alongside introducing e-bike sharing services to enhance last-mile connectivity.
