Jaipur Smart City Ltd. is investing nearly Rs 76 crore to modernize four key waste transfer stations, with work commencing in March 2026 and projected completion within six months. The stations, located in Kalwar Road, Sitapura, Brahmpuri, and Mansarovar RIICO, will feature warehouse structures for temporary waste storage and processing. This upgrade is designed to significantly reduce the burden on existing landfill sites and improve the city's waste management efficiency.
The modernized stations will receive waste from across the city for mechanical segregation into wet, dry, and recyclable components. Subsequently, this segregated material will be transported to dedicated processing plants for scientific disposal or recycling. This structured approach aims to prevent the accumulation of waste and associated hygiene issues like foul odors and open dumping, ensuring waste is processed within an hour of collection.
