Ipswich eyes massive 150m wind turbine
21 Aug
Summary
- A 150m wind turbine is planned for Ipswich.
- It would be twice the height of Suffolk's tallest building.
- The turbine would be three and a half times the Orwell Bridge.

Associated British Ports (ABP) is developing proposals for a significant new wind turbine at Cliff Quay, near the Orwell Bridge, on the outskirts of Ipswich.
This proposed structure would reach an impressive height of 150 meters. If constructed, it would stand twice as tall as Suffolk's current tallest building and be approximately three and a half times the length of the Orwell Bridge.
ABP has initiated the process by requesting a screening opinion from Babergh District Council. This step precedes the submission of a full planning application for the ambitious project.
