India Braces for Dual Threat: Rain, Fog, and Cold!

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for multiple states, anticipating severe weather through mid-January 2026. Tamil Nadu is expected to face heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from January 8 to January 11, with very heavy rainfall predicted on January 9 and 10.
Simultaneously, dense to very dense fog is forecast to engulf Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh during morning hours from January 8 to January 14. Similar fog conditions will affect Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Northeast India, with varying intensity and duration. These conditions are expected to significantly reduce visibility, posing risks to transportation and daily life.
