Haryana Launches 100 Crore Green Fund for Climate Action

Haryana is taking a proactive stance against climate change with the proposed establishment of a Haryana Green Climate Resilient Fund. This fund, slated for the 2026-27 state budget, will receive an initial allocation of Rs 100 crore. The initiative aims to drive various climate-focused projects across the state.
The proposed fund will support critical areas such as the promotion of zero-emission vehicles, renewable energy adoption, and enhanced energy efficiency. Furthermore, it will back initiatives in water conservation, urban greening, climate-resilient agriculture, and nature-based solutions to environmental challenges.
In parallel, Haryana has launched a mission-mode program to cleanse the 313-kilometer Yamuna River stretch within its borders. This effort, chaired by the chief minister, will focus on expanding sewage treatment capacities and preventing industrial pollution. The state is also set to host the World Environment Day program in Gurugram on June 5, highlighting ecosystem restoration and sustainable lifestyles.
