24 Jul
Summary
- Haryana ranked first among North Indian states in SSG 2025.
- Rohtak achieved top performance as the best district.
- Rankings assessed rural households, public spaces, and villages.

Haryana has achieved the highest position among North Indian states in the recently released Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2025 rankings.
The Union ministry of jal shakti announced the results, placing Punjab second, followed by Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Rohtak district was lauded as the best-performing in the region, with Punjab's Malerkotla and Himachal Pradesh's Una district securing second and third places, respectively. This recognition stems from dedicated efforts in scientific waste management, door-to-door collection, and composting initiatives.
The SSG, launched in 2018, assesses on-ground sanitation and encourages healthy competition. Its evaluation methodology, conducted by an independent third-party agency, involves direct observation of rural households, public areas, and entire villages.
