As part of the Yamuna Clean Action Plan, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials have pinpointed 53 sewage discharge points within the city's stormwater drainage legs II and III. These sites are targeted for sewage tapping, with effluents to be diverted via gravity and pumping infrastructure to treatment plants.

Currently, 14 discharge points have been tapped, and the remaining 39 are slated for closure by June 2026. Inspections and flow monitoring are ongoing to identify further unauthorized discharge points. Significant concentrations of these points were found in Sheetla Colony, Rajeev Nagar, and Kherki Dhaula.

Efforts include laying internal sewage lines, such as along the Dwarka Expressway, to intercept discharges. Earlier meetings discussed tackling millions of liters of untreated effluent daily from legs II and III. The goal is to ensure biological oxygen demand remains below stringent limits and to improve river water quality.
