- NGT schedules hearing for August 5, demanding responses.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken up a plea concerning the alleged illegal operation of 30 industrial-scale diesel and gas generators. These generators are reportedly situated within designated green belt areas and public parks in DLF Phase-1, Gurugram. Residents of Block-A lodged a complaint with the tribunal, alleging significant environmental damage and a rise in air pollution within their residential areas.
Responding to the complaint, the NGT's principal bench has directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB), Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), and DLF Authorities to submit their official responses. The tribunal noted that photographic evidence and an amended township site plan were provided by the applicant, the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Block-A. A similar case involving generators in Malibu Towne is already pending before the tribunal.
The NGT has scheduled the next hearing for August 5, 2026, to consider both matters together. The applicant has been instructed to serve notices to all respondents and submit an affidavit of service. The HSPCB stated that it would investigate the allegations and present a status report to the tribunal.
