Heavy to very heavy rain is forecast for northeastern Gujarat, specifically affecting Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Chhota Udepur districts.
The monsoon activity is attributed to a low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh, with its associated cyclonic circulation extending high into the atmosphere. This system, along with the monsoon trough and a western disturbance, is enhancing rainfall across the state.
Further afield, South Gujarat, including Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, and the Daman region, is also expected to receive rain at many places. Saurashtra will see more consistent showers in Surendranagar, Bhavnagar, and Botad, while other areas like Kutch will experience scattered activity.
The forecast indicates that this pattern of light to moderate rain will persist in Ahmedabad and nearby districts through August 12. Intensity is expected to ease thereafter, with rain activity shifting towards the northeastern belt by August 13 and 14. Conditions suggest a continuation of wet weather into mid-August.
