The decision comes in response to at least nine human-lion conflict incidents in less than two months. These incidents have resulted in fatalities, including a 12-year-old boy, and injuries in various districts. The new enclosure, to be fenced within the park's natural habitat, is designed to isolate attacking lions from populated areas.
Dr. Jaipal Singh confirmed that necessary instructions have been issued and work has begun on fencing a designated area. The forest department's relocation efforts typically involve capturing animals that stray into villages and releasing them in forest areas for conservation and management purposes. Ambardi Safari Park, established in 2017, spans approximately 365 hectares and is home to various wildlife, including Asiatic lions.
