20 Dec
Summary
- 46 sites faced violations for ongoing construction despite restrictions.
- Mandatory dust control measures were violated at several sites.
- Fines ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹5 lakh imposed on violators.

In Greater Noida, authorities have intensified enforcement of pollution control measures, with inspections over the past two days uncovering violations at 46 sites. These sites, encompassing residential plots, ongoing builder projects, and industrial units, were found to be operating in defiance of restrictions or neglecting essential dust control protocols. The National Green Tribunal's Grap-4 mandate, requiring a near-complete halt on construction and strict dust mitigation, has been widely disregarded.
Officials reported that fines were issued across various sectors and villages. Major developers in Sector 1 and individual plot owners in Kheda Choganpur each received a ₹5 lakh penalty. Fines for construction and industrial units in sectors 10 and 12, as well as Ecotech-6 and Ecotech-8, varied between ₹25,000 and ₹1 lakh. Residential properties in Bhanauta and Chhapraula, along with 22 residents in Eta One, also faced penalties of up to ₹1 lakh each.
