26 Feb
Summary
- Two guides caught a 1,200-pound great white shark from shore.
- The successful catch followed an overnight fishing expedition.
- This is the second large great white caught by the company.

Shark fishing guides Blaine Kenny and Dylan Wier experienced an extraordinary event on Navarre Beach, Florida, landing a great white shark estimated at over 1,200 pounds and 12 feet long. The duo spent a cold winter night on shore, using a 150-pound swordfish head as bait. After an eight-hour wait, a powerful bite initiated a nearly hour-long fight. Technology, including a drone, confirmed the species.
This remarkable catch by Coastal Worldwide is not unprecedented, as they previously reeled in an 11-foot great white shark from shore off Orange Beach, Alabama, approximately ten months earlier. This second, even larger shore-caught great white has since captivated over a million viewers through viral video footage shared on January 31, 2024. The anglers successfully unhooked and released the massive creature back into the Gulf waters.
